Lincoln National Park last night Fisherman’s Bay…quiet relatively sheltered bay, watched lightning and heard the thunder to the North but apart from a few spots of rain it didn’t bother us. Kids went rock- hopping & had skimming stone competition. Spagbol with samphire from the beach for dinner.
Staying at Catninga Farm-stay in the foothills of the Flinders ranges tonight….glorious sunset, lots of flies (but they go to bed at sundown) stars amazing.

The steep cliffs along the Great Australian Bight…highway 1 along the Nullarbor. Hot (39’C), windy & flies but a quick sketch to capture the dramatic coastline
Lake Cowan a salt lake just outside Norseman….some water in the lake a thick crust of salt shining in the early morning sun.
There’s a really cute 60’s/70’s style caravan sitting on the carpark next to Claremont train station…it’s been there for at least 12 months. I’ve been past it many times on the Fremantle-Perth train but never stopped to sketch it, the van body has lovely curving lines. On Monday we had an impromptu sketch-meet at the The Goods Shed Claremont….the perfect opportunity.

Sketching in my usual Coffee Shop again…TWSBI Fude nib fountain pen and De Atramentis Document black ink with watercolour wash added over the top at home….
Last official sketch-meet of the year for the urban sketchers at Coode Street jetty, South Perth. Fabulous views across the Swan River, sailboats and lots of people enjoying a warm summers morning. The bottom sketch is drawn on a sheet of A4 catridge (ordinary printer) paper….cut lengthways into 3 even strips and taped together on the reverse to creaye a really long panorama.
